  • Payment Information: Credit or debit card number, billing address, and other financial information necessary to process your membership fee. Payment card data is processed by our third-party payment processor and is not stored on our servers;

  • Identity Verification: Government-issued identification documents, where required for verification purposes;

  • Background Check Consent: Consent forms and related information where screening is conducted.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Website, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:

  • Conducting the intake process, including reviewing your profile and preferences to identify Marco Polo groups.

  • Communicating with you about your account and Marco Polo groups. 

  • Processing your membership fees and managing your subscription;

  • Providing customer support and responding to inquiries.

2.2 Safety and Verification

  • Verifying your identity and eligibility to use the Service;

  • Conducting background screening consistent with your consent;

  • Detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud, abuse, harassment, and other violations of our Terms of Service;

  • Protecting the safety of Members and the integrity of the Service.

2.3 Communications and Marketing

  • Sending you service-related notifications, account updates, and group  alerts;

  • Sending you marketing emails, newsletters, and promotional offers, where you have consented to receive them;

  • Sending you SMS notifications, where you have separately consented;

  • Responding to your requests, feedback, and reports.

2.4 Improving the Service

  • Analyzing usage patterns and trends to improve matching quality and user experience;

  • Conducting research and analytics to understand how Members use the Service;

  • Developing new features and services;

  • Training staff and improving operational processes.

2.5 Legal and Compliance

  • Complying with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes;

  • Enforcing our Terms of Service and Member Contract;

  • Protecting The Introduction LLC's legal rights and interests;

3.1 With Other Members — Introductions Only

The core function of the Service involves creating opportunities to meet other people in groups that share similar interests. We do not share information from one Member to another. 

3.2 With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Service, including:

  • Payment processors (for billing and subscription management);

  • Background check and identity verification providers;

  • Email and SMS communication platforms;

  • Cloud storage and hosting providers;

  • Analytics and technology service providers;

  • Customer support software providers.

All service providers are contractually required to protect your information and to use it only for the purposes for which it was shared.

3.3 For Legal and Safety Reasons

  • Communication Records: Messages and correspondence are retained for up to three (3) years after account closure unless earlier deletion is requested and no legal hold applies;

  • Background Check Results: Retained only for as long as required by applicable law and our agreements with screening providers;

  • Payment Information: Payment card details are not stored by us; payment records are retained for seven (7) years for tax and accounting purposes;

  • Anonymized Analytics Data: May be retained indefinitely in anonymized, non-identifiable form.

You may request deletion of your account and personal information at any time as described in Section 7. Upon verified deletion request, we will delete or anonymize your information from active systems within ten (10) business days, subject to legal retention obligations.

5.3 California Residents — CCPA/CPRA Rights

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY — COPPA NOTICE

THE SERVICE IS STRICTLY FOR ADULTS 18 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER. The Introduction LLC does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. 11. DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS

Our Website does not currently respond to DNT browser signals, as there is no industry standard for how these signals should be interpreted. This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into The Introduction LLC's Website Terms of Service and Member Contract. By agreeing to the Terms of Service or executing the Member Contract, you also agree to this Privacy Policy. In the event of any conflict between this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service or Member Contract on a privacy-related subject, this Privacy Policy shall govern.

13. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

  • Send an email notification to the email address on file for active Members at least fourteen (14) days before the changes take effect;

  • Where required by law, obtain your consent before implementing material changes.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree to the updated policy, you may cancel your membership in accordance with the Member Contract.
